Sharon joined Arterra as a senior landscape architect with over a decade of experience working with residential clients throughout the Bay Area.

As a late teen, while backpacking throughout California and reading essays on bioregionalism, Sharon was motivated to pursue a career in which she could help others connect to place, and in doing so, inspire them to become stewards of the land. With a passion for the creative arts and as the fourth-generation member of a Bay Area family of contractors and designers it is no surprise that Sharon chose landscape architecture.

Sharon received her bachelor's degree in landscape architecture in 2005 from the University of Oregon. After graduation, Sharon returned to the Bay Area, where she has worked for several Bay Area firms. Following in her family's footsteps, Sharon became a landscape contractor and established her own landscape design build company. She loved being out in the field every day and getting her hands dirty, but missed being a part of a design team, so she opted to return to a studio setting.

Sharon is most excited about the people and puzzle of it all. She uses her creative, systematic approach to develop a clear expression of a client’s dream, and her hands-on technical knowledge to figure out how that dream can best be translated to the landscape.

When not on a job site or in the studio, Sharon can be found hiking with her dog, backpacking with her sweetie, or batch cooking on the weekends.
